(1)    CARRIER’S LIABILITY.   If no other plan is selected, your household goods are covered for a value up to 60 cents per pound per article.  The mover has no responsibility for any owner packed items.  This type of coverage is recommended only if customer has their own insurance coverage for their belongings while in transit with a moving company.  There is no additional cost for CARRIER’S LIABILITY.

(2)     REPLACEMENT VALUE PROTECTION.   This type of coverage offers you protection on your household good for the full replacement value of your belongings at today’s current market price for a comparable item.  Depreciation is not a factor.  It should be noted that repair is still the first option is settling a claim.  With REPLACEMENT VALUE PROTECTION, the shipment is protected for a total replacement value, subject to a minimum of $3.50 per pound, or $21,000.00, whichever is greater.  The cost for REPLACEMENT VALUE PROTECTION  is:

         No deductible:                            $.85/$100.00 declared value

        $250.00 deductible:                      $.50/$100.00 declared value

        $500.00 deductible:                      $.35/$100.00 declared value

        As with all types of coverage, the carrier has no liability for damage to items within cartons packed by the customer.

STORAGE PROTECTION

Household goods stored with Shelly Moving can be covered with either of the options shown above.  If REPLACEMENT VALUE PROTECTION is selected, we offer cost savings with two deductible options.      

(1)     CARRIER’S LIABILITY.   If no other plan is selected, items in storage are released at a value not exceeding 30 cents per pound per article.  This protection is provided at no additional cost.            

(2)     REPLACEMENT VALUE PROTECTION.   Your shipment must be covered at a minimum value of $3.50 per pound or $21,000.00, whichever is greater.  The cost for REPLACEMENT VALUE PROTECTION is as follows:

        No deductible:                              $.30/$100.00 declared value/month

        $250.00 deductible:                      $.20/$100.00 declared value/month

        $500.00 deductible:                      $.10/$100.00 declared value/month
