For protection levels that exceed $250,000, your cost is based on the applicable cost for $250,000 of valuation plus $.70 per $100 of additional valuation

When you want the full replacement protection offered by the ECP Plan, you should protect your belongings up to their total replacement value. At a minimum, the value you declare must be equal to $5.00 per pound times the weight of your shipment. If your exact valuation falls between protection levels listed on the chart, your cost will be based on the next highest level.
Basic Liability
Basic Liability Protection is just that -- basic. On average, Household goods have a value of greater than $6.00 per pound, but basic liability only offers you reimbursement of 60¢ per pound per article in the event of loss or damage. Basic Liability Protection is free of charge, but for most families it is inadequate protection. If you wish this basic coverage, you must waive out of Extra Care Protection and request 60¢ per pound protection in writing.
Is the Minimum Level Enough?
While Extra Care Protection has minimum protection levels based on your shipment weight, the level of protection you actually need for your household items may be greater than what these minimum levels provide. You may need to consult your homeowner's insurance policy for recommended coverage levels. When determining the protection level for your household inventory, be sure to consider any special items such as antiques, crystal, and collectibles. You must request ECP in writing.

Summary of terms and conditions:

Allied protection plans are subject to the terms, conditions, and limitations contained in its published tariffs.

Extra Care Protection: When you request in writing the ECP plan, Allied Van Lines will repair or replace, whichever is less, any household item in the event that it is damaged, lost or destroyed during your move, up to the dollar amount that you declare as the replacement value of your possessions. Complete replacement of multiple-item sets of china, gold and silver flatware, and crystal glassware are excluded. Replacement is at today's full replacement cost -- not a depreciated value. Allied charges for ECP depend on the deductible option selected and the value you place on your shipment. You must declare a minimum value equal to at lest $5.00 per pound times the shipment weight.

The terms and conditions herein apply only to household possessions. These protection plans are available only on shipments within the United States (except Hawaii) and shipments to or from Canada. Additional charges apply if storage-in-transit is required. On shipments to or from Alaska, valuation costs are double.
